Joseph Bathanti

A Professor of English and McFarlane Family Distinguished Professor of Interdisciplinary Education at Appalachian State University. He was appointed North Carolina’s seventh poet laureate in 2012-14, was the 2016 recipient of the North Carolina Award in Literature and served as writer-in-residence for the Charles George VA Medical Center. Professor Bathanti is the author of 18 books, including short stories, poetry, fiction, and nonfiction.
